Plugged In
There are many prayer needs facing individuals today. Likewise, our nation, in fact the whole earth is facing troublesome times. This has been the case throughout earth’s history. People and nations have always needed a Savior. God has always had his eyes on those who hope and trust in him.
America was, contrary to the lies being pumped into our schools and coming from some media, a nation founded on Christian faith and values. Freedom in America was the result of holding to and defending these saintly values because freedom comes only from God. Biblical truth provides understanding to this. Likewise, history references which have not been altered from the accounts of our founding fathers prove that our American legacy is Christian.
How can anyone live in or visit Washington DC and fail to see this? Documents revealing strong Christian faith rest under guard in museums, and inscriptions in and on some of the historical buildings and monuments, are found in abundance in the heart of our nation’s capitol. Yet... some who walk among these documents and see these Christian inscriptions daily blatantly deny that America is a Christian nation!
I like what President Reagan said, though a scary thought, “If we cease to be a nation under God, we will be a nation gone under.” Well said! The Holy Bible bears witness to this, revealed in its recorded history. A statement worthy of recall, originates within truth.
One reason our nation is facing a threat to loss of freedom is because Christians have reacted to intimidation, taking the easy way out, or so it seemed easiest at the time, avoiding those who oppose Godly values. By yielding to fear, myself included, over time, complacency has overtaken our ‘watchful’ way of thinking. By succumbing to the basic desire for comfort-in-life, hiding from confrontation – which, by the way, does not always need to be the method of persuasion for winning converts to the Christian faith - we have retreated from the mission of Christianity, to be God’s light in the earth, revealing the savior of the world. As Christians, living a victorious life and showing the nature of Christ rises above confrontation almost always. How do we act when ‘life’ fails to go our way? What do people see as they observe our behavior? It depends on whether or not we spend daily time with God. No person who is seeking truth wants to engage in Christian conversation with someone who says they are Christian but whose actions do not represent Christ.
A Christian must be in communication, that is, relationship with Christ before s/he can emulate Christ. Often, it has seemed easier to pursue self-satisfaction over self-denial... but now we are reaping the product of retreat and selfishness. Pursuit of self-satisfaction is always a temptation to be overcome if we are to satisfy God who sees the big picture of life. His plan is not to harm but to bring good to us and bless the earth. _ “I know the plans I have for you, to do good and not evil...” He said.
Another reason America faces numerous critical issues is due to so many Christian’s allowing ignorance to rule in their daily lives more than they have been willing to become fervent for the things of God. Someone said, “Ignorance is bliss.” My reply is, “Only for a season, then the nightmare begins!” God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” _ The only way to win a battle is to be wise to the enemy’s strategy and to have the ammunition for overcoming him. God said, through the Apostle Paul, _ “We are not ignorant of Satan’s devices.” Even so, we are a nation who has allowed ourselves to be overcome with evil. God said, “Don’t be overcome with evil, rather, overcome evil with good.” _ Likewise, professed Christians, a body of people who claim to be like Christ Jesus, and children of the most high God, have fallen into the same trap, getting overcome by evil. Christians should be leading the way to truth and light. We should speak the truth, in love. Open rebuke is better than secret love. A real friend tells the truth.
With diligent prayer and obedience to the instruction we receive from God, he will again empower us to overcome evil with good. Then we will influence others and offer hope to many people and nations, as we have in times past.
Why have we lost our greatest influence in our personal lives and in our powerful, formally undefeated nation? Here is a simple thought... propaganda, (lies told for political gain), is one strategy of the enemy, acceptable sometimes as a war strategy, especially where human lives are at risk, but never when lives will be lost on your own side! Propaganda has found its way in another venue... subtly working among civilians with sayings that seem harmless - thought to be no more than a cliche, but not so. Sayings, such as these two quotes: “What you don’t know won’t hurt you.” when factually, the truth is, “What you don’t know can KILL you.” The second quote: “You can be so heavenly minded that you are no earthly good.” A good read up in scripture will help you know the truth... who will you believe? God said, “If you are risen with Christ, seek those things which are above...” _ I learned that if I am to be earthly good, then I must seek God (who is above) and get plugged in to his thoughts (which are higher than the thoughts of any person).
With praying to God I gain knowledge and grow in understanding to combat my enemies which are also his. Remembering that the real enemies are not our fellow citizens, they are not people, rather, our enemies are the spirits of darkness, Satan and his fallen spirits. When I do not inquire of God, I fall to earthly thinking and began to blame people and their schemes for making problems exist. However, it is when people oppose God’s instruction, that they merely become agents of darkness; they are not the root and cause of evil, rather they have ignorantly yielded their body to evil to help its strength and cause. Do not forget what Jesus said, as he hung on the cross, “Father forgive them – they do not know what they are doing.” Anyone can be sincere, both righteous and evil persons, but both can also be sincerely wrong!
Praying gets me plugged into God’s mind. Then having the “mind of Christ” and drawing from his nature while in prayer with him, I grow in discernment which releases wisdom, knowledge and understanding from above, into the earth, through me. This ‘wisdom, knowledge and understanding’ is not earthly. It is superior to any master-mind on earth thereby empowering me, (and you), when we pray righteously, to out-maneuver the enemy. Another valuable 'weapon' I receive from God in prayer, is the ability to ‘love my enemies’. True love, God's kind of love, will trip up the enemy every time because hatred is easily manipulated but love is unmovable, sure and stable. The enemy can not comprehend love - “God is Love.” _ Ask yourself why anyone would oppose genuine love. There is only one logical answer... hatred and confusion rule them. “Satan is the author of confusion.” _ God gives “Power, love and a sound mind.” _
Who can intelligently deny there are two main forces at war among us? These are identified by God as “good and evil”. They commonly move among us as ‘love and hate’. God tells us that Satan is his arc enemy and he warns that to 'whomever we yield our bodies, that is the one who becomes our ‘boss’ (father)'. Yield to Satan, then he is your boss. Yield to God, then he is your Lord. I’d rather be in God’s camp any day because of what I know about God’s enemy! But also because of what I know about God. To be in God's camp, I have to put on my weapons of warfare. One powerful strategic preparation for overcoming evil, is unpolluted PRAYER.
Beware of leaders, who try to bring ‘peace on earth’, who also are people-pleasers (to certain sects – for no one can please everybody); they try to do so without bringing the Creator of humankind into the equation... beware of them. They pose as a savior of sorts. They are an enemy to all people because no one will be saved from the coming wrath of God except those who have received his provision of salvation through his son Jesus.
- (See: “It Is Done” for a powerful explanation of this.)
One day the earth and heavens will melt with a very hot heat... but the word of God will not pass away, His Word will stand forever and God will establish his kingdom upon a new earth surrounded by a new heaven. The word of God, the Holy Bible declares this. Every word God has said will come to pass. This is also why we pray, to be ‘in tune’ with the one who has the final power to save and to destroy. We want to be on his side and we want to bring others to the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Prayer is very powerful. Engaging in prayer (with the one, true, living Creator-God) is how we gain power to change what should be changed and to protect what should not be changed. Change is corrupt if it is not change God wants. How can we know what God wants if we do not talk to him often? It is on this foundation that ‘We Will Pray’ makes it’s appeal calling for the people of God to return to their first love and focus on the more important needs facing the nations, the need for truth to fill the earth so that the message of eternal salvation can be received, not covered over with lies and not hidden by scoffers and doubters. Their is a need for healing, first in people, reviving their hearts from spiritual sickness and their bodies from physical infirmities; following, nations would arise with healing.
As citizens of America, and seeing America’s growing crisis’s, we make our petition firstly to Americans. Although, without reservation we welcome anyone from any nation to pray with us for continued freedom and sovergnity, as we continue to reach out to other nations with help, aid and the Christian message. Many people look to America for their hope. People of understanding realize that if America crumbles, the hope of many nations, without intervention from God, is lost. I conclude this segment of appeal, to the counsel that we can not separate prayer from eternal salvation for a number of reasons. For one, why bother to save anything on earth if in the end, we ourselves are destroyed? And why bother to help others see truth, which is always backed up by fact, not fiction, not propaganda, if in the end all is lost?
The picture to be gained here is that of HOPE. There is a savior and he is not only willing, but also indeed able to save those who call out to him in humility and faith. ‘We Will Pray’ is calling for the uniting of believers across this 'still-great' nation to join together with us in passionate prayer, not fearing criticism, rather having the fear/reverence of God, for the purpose of bringing change where change is desperately needed in our nation so that we may continue to be a beacon of God’s light to the world and live peaceful lives.
America was started as a nation whose founding fathers exercised faith in God. Their faith moved God to release the freedom we have enjoyed for centuries. Yes, our American soldiers were and are instruments of ‘peace’ for our country and fellowman, fighting and giving their lives to keep us free, enforcing our God-given liberty. Today we see rising attacks against Christian freedom, and ultimately, against all freedoms, calling for yet another kind of soldier... prayer warriors. We must meet this challenge waged against common hope with an army of united prayer. It will be essiential also to unite our faith and actions in harmony with the plan of God if we are to succeed in this effort against the enemies of America.
Anyone who still thinks that our human intelligence is going to win us this war should carefully collect the political data and calculate the results of every effort we have put forth on our own. The statistics reveal that for every single battle we win, several more battles surface. For every protest we engage in, there is some kind of distraction stealing our thunder, almost nullifying our efforts. These distractions are not coincidental, they are powerful and effective enemy tactic’s contrived to bring us to absolute failure. I for one get the message coming from God: (allow me to borrow a couple of lines from an old song), “There is someone walking behind you, turn around, look at me. There is someone who really loves you, turn around, look at me.” ...Yes, God is eager to be our knight in shining armor, but we must ‘turn ourselves around' and look, again, to him.
• ‘We Will Pray’ exists for this purpose: To pray for every need presented to us. We desire to unite believers with other believers for spiritual strengthening and encouragement. We hope, and this is our prayer, that every person who comes to us, will find the moral, spiritual, physical and practical help needed to gain their victory – whatever the need is. Although the concept of this site was conceived over concern for our nation, we realize that prayer can not be exclusive to only one matter, for God is Lord of all and every concern is important to Him. •
